Contours

Prismacolor and Polycolour colored pencil on Stonehenge paper, 17.5″H x 13″W. Completed 2006.

My comments: The idea for this piece came from, I kid you not, the toga scene in the movie “Animal House”. Right then it struck me that a wrapped fabric piece would be a ton of fun. Often I do underpaintings for my drawings, but this one was unique in that the underpainting was very refined. I considered stopping after the underpainting and hanging it as a black and white piece – it was very dramatic. I’m glad I added the color in the end.
